Betty Vicknair

Betty Vicknair, APRN, MSN, PNP, is the university and faculty consultant for APEA. She works closely with faculty to improve student readiness for certification and practice, and she spearheads the development and implementation of new learning resources. Betty joined APEA in 2014, bringing with her a wealth of knowledge extending over a distinguished 50-year nursing career. Betty has 25 years of clinical experience as a PNP and 8 years of experience as an assistant professor of nursing.

Betty has served on the Louisiana Association of Nurse Practitioners Board of Directors and Executive Committee for close to 20 years and is the president of the Louisiana Nurse Practitioner Foundation, which she founded in 2015. She received the Seymour Weiss Excellence in Teaching Award in 2009 and the American Association of Nurse Practitioners State Award for Nurse Practitioner Advocacy in 2016.
