PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
APEA Clinical Briefs deliver continuing education through a concise article framed around a case example. Each Clinical Brief begins with a description of a patient presentation and its associated subjective and objective findings. The Clinical Brief then outlines the decision making process related to the patient presentation, including the diagnostic studies and differential diagnoses to consider. It provides details on the diagnosis, including etiology, incidence, risk factors, and evidence-based management choices. Each Clinical Brief concludes with a plan of care for the patient described in the CE offering, and it incorporates pharmacologic and nonpharmacologic treatments. To earn contact hours, answer the follow-up questions and complete the course evaluation. This Clinical Brief is eligible for 1.5 pharmacology contact hours.
